Dream Big With Delia

Delia is a beloved teacher here at Open Up. Her background as an Army Veteran brought her to yoga. When she discovered Open Up, she felt comfortable and welcomed to deepen her practice by enrolling in the 200-hour Inclusive Teacher Training. Since the completion and graduation of teacher training, Delia has taught weekly classes at the studio, at Open Schools, and in collaboration with the Wounded Warrior Project.

“I dream really BIG. Megan and I laugh all the time that we are both dreamers and sometimes we dream out of reach, but I truly believe a lot of my dreams came true when I became a teacher.”

One of Delia’s fondest memories is teaching yoga with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. She was honored and humbled to teach with string musicians and to lead movements to live music.

“The small moments are so valuable…I teach young school-aged students who are supported by wheelchairs and when we move them into bean bags or cushions on the floor, you witness a shift and their bodies find ease, it’s a really special moment.”

Delia has undoubtedly had an effect on people with her care and knowledge of the yoga practice. Her fun personality leaves you laughing and feeling like you made an instant friend. We are so proud to celebrate Delia’s next adventure and look forward to her staying connected as a remote teacher for our Open Training program.
