Yoga Teacher Training not just for Yoga Teachers

great opportunity for personal + professional development

Open Up’s Yoga Teacher Training is not just for yoga teachers! The physical aspect is merely one small part of the makeup of a yoga practice. We will learn about yoga philosophy which contributes to personal growth and development. Self-exploration is something that we weave into all of our programming to help grow wellbeing and self-awareness.

We teach mindfulness tools because they help us learn to evaluate how we feel in a moment. They empower people to make decisions about what is best for their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. These tools increase our ability to make good decisions as we work to cultivate healthy relationships personally and professionally. Here at Open Up, we believe that increased self-awareness and increased healthy relationships lead to an increased sense of joy and overall wellbeing. Throughout this training we provide an environment where diverse populations can find space and practices to heal; where people can strengthen resilience through joy and flourish as individuals and as a community.

We aim to help people learn more about themselves in a holistic way alongside a supportive community. Through grounding and somatic techniques found in yoga, improv, and mindfulness models, our organization commits to providing equitable, safe, and accessible practices as a collective. Our goal is to model the benefits of shifting from individualistic mindsets toward equitable collectivism and inclusive practices that highlight how we can all benefit from supporting one another.

As a service organization, our purpose is to teach diverse communities of individuals to build a better sense of self, but our teachers also embrace mindful practices as a means to collectively navigate stress & trauma. Tailoring experiences to meet individual physical, mental, and behavioral support needs while maintaining a team/group/community atmosphere is a key part of Open Up’s facilitation model.
